LVRS

House Fire with Fire Showing: 7400 blk Brooklyn Bridge Road

Rescue Engine 49, Ambulance 498, Medic 49, Chief 49, Chief 49A (as Battation 6) and Chief 49B responded on the call arriving to find heavy fire from side C of the house and several homeowners on the front lawn.  Rescue Engine 49's picked up 10's split lay at the driveway and secured water supply while the crew treked down the lane and pulled a crosslay.  Rescue Engine 49 knocked down the bulk of the fire in the kitchen, living room and adjacent hallways while Howard Truck 6 opened the roof and Montgomery Truck 15 opened up inside.  Primary by the Rescue Engine's crew was negative.  Units were held for approximately 3 hours to mop up and complete overhaul  Chief 49 had the command with Chief 49B at the command post and Chief 49A had interior.

LVRS

One pinned and trapped in AACO: BW Parkway S/B South of 198.

 

On Wednesday night, August 11, as crews were wrapping up station chores, RE49 was alerted to AACO to the BW Parkway southbound, south of 198. RE49 arrived on scene to find one car that barrel rolled down the embankment, on it's drivers side and against a tree, pinning and trapping the patient inside. RE49 shored the car while TK45 began cutting the rear hatch away. The crew from the rescue engine then used an attic ladder to gain patient access from the passenger side door, removing it, and lifting the dash to free the patient and remove her from the car. Patient was extricated in under 10 minutes and units returned to service shortly thereafter.

AACO MVC with Entrapment: Russett Green West

On Sunday Aug. 8, 2010. Rescue Engine 49, Ambulance 498 , Medic 49 and Chief 49 (as Batt 806) were dispatched to AA County for the MVC with entrapment. Working with AA County units, one pinned victim was rapidly extricated by RE 49 and transported to a local trauma facility by A498 and Medic 49. Once the pinned victim was extricated, the Rescue Engine crew remained on the scene assisting with 3 other trauma victims.

Vehicle into a Building: 805 Washington Blvd.

On Sunday Aug. 1, 2010. Rescue Engine 49, Ambulance 498 , Medic 49 and Chief 49B were dispatched to 805 Washington Boulevard for a motor vehicle accident/collapse investigation (vehicle into the building). Chief 49B arrived first and established the command, while the crew from Rescue Engine 49 assisted in accessing the patient and Ambulance 498 worked with the medics to evaluate the patient's condition. Crews from Company 10 assisted with establishing a water supply and shutting off utilities. Once the patient was removed and transported to a local hospital, Chief 49B and the the Rescue Engine crew remained on the scene to assist with the removal of the vehicle from the building.
