On Saturday May 20th, members of LVRS, along with units from LVFD and other Prince George's County companies, participated in a training burn using a donated house off of Route 1.
Squad 49 First Arriving on Anne Arundle Apartment Fire
On Wednesday May 10th at 0021 Rescue Squad 49 was alerted for a building fire at 3342 Crumpton Street. Squad 49 found a small fire in a back bedroom which was quickly extinguished. Squad 49 checked for extension, overhauled the rest of the room and returned to service with in an hour.
Fatal Car Crash with One Trapped
On Monday May 8th, Rescue Engine 49 was alerted to Laurel Bowie Road and Powermill Road for a vehicle overturned, with one ejected and one trapped. The Rescue Engine Arrived on scene and found a car which had wrapped itself around a tree (on its side) and was still hanging from the tree. A lengthy extrication was called for due to the condition of the car. Two patients were taken to local trauma centers where one was pronounced dead.
