RESCUE SQUAD MEMBER INDUCTED INTO
PGCVF&RA HALL OF FAME

Long time rescue squad member, John (Little Nick) Nicholson was inducted into the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association Hall of Fame on Friday, September 23, 2005 at their annual convention. Persons inducted into the Hall of Fame are individuals that have been determined by their department, any other department of the Association, the officers and Board of Directors of the Association, or the members of the Hall of Fame Committee to have demonstrated distinguished service to his/her fire department or rescue service, the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, the Maryland State Firemen's Association and to the citizens of his/her own community or Prince George's County.

Extrication Competition

On Saturday, September 17, 2005, Rescue Squad 49 took part in the extrication competition at the 2005 PGCVFRA Convention in Brandywine, MD. This is the second year that the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad has sent an extrication team to the annual convention. The crew of five did an excellent job. The winner of the competition will be announced at the close of the convention.

9/11 Remembrance


The cake was excellent and was all that more enjoyable because of who made it for us.

Saturday the 10th - Luke & Rebecca Carter came by the station to present us with a cake, a thank you card and a Time Life book on 9-11. The cake , card & Book were presented to Chief 49 B. The card is posted in the day room.
