State Trooper Traped in Early Morning Crash

At 0439 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2005 Squad 49 and Ambulance 496 were alerted for a crash at Washington Blvd and Talbot Ave with a report of a state trooper involved. Squad 49 arrived on the scene and found a state trooper who had been “T-Boned” and was still trapped in the car. Squad 49 made quick work of the car and gained access so the EMS crews could get to work. The state trooper was transported to an area hospital for a check up of injuries sustained during the crash. Units from 49 cleared in less than an hour.

From all members at the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad we hope for a quick and speedy recovery of the trooper.

West Laurel House Fire

March 27, 2005. On Sunday, the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad was called to the report of a house fire in West Laurel. Upon arrival it was reported that there was a potential of a chimney fire in the house. Crews cleared the call in just under an hour. Chief 49B had the command.

Annual Awards Banquet
Saturday March 12th

On Saturday March 12th, LVRS held its Annual Awards Banquet at the Laurel American Legion Hall. Fifty Year member Finley doCarmo was selected our "Member of the Year".
