Saturday the 4th.
Home Depot, Parade and Party

On Saturday, December 4th, a beautiful sunshiny day, Mrs. Claus made her debut at the Home Depot Children's Saturday festivities. She was accompanied by two of her favorite elves, Bud and Buddy. Entertainment for the event was provided by Blazz the clown and various other LVRS Santa helpers. The children (and adults) at Home Depot were delighted to learn about holiday home safety. Blazz the Clown even provided video demonstrations of how quickly Christmas decorations can turn deadly. Bob and Tiffany came along to take pictures of the children as they explored the equipment. Bob was able to print the photos of the children right there and then so each child could be given a print to take home.

Later that afternoon, Mrs. Claus wowwed the crowds at the Holiday Parade up Main Street. Sitting elegantly atop the LVRS engine, she greeted the community with lots of smiles, waves and candy. Blazz the Clown walked the parade route stopping along the way to personally greet our littlest happy citizens. Bud and Buddy, when not elfing around throwing candy at each other, tossed their goods to the children lining the sidewalks.

The parade ended at the Phelps Center where Mrs. Claus was whisked away to sit beside her significant other, Santa. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Claus shared secrets and wishes with the hopeful children. Bud and Buddy stood by to assist the Clauses as needed. The other LVRS helpers, dressed in festive holiday apparel, mingled with the partygoers, nibbling on cookies and swilling down the hot chocolate till the end.

Weary from the hectic day, Bud and Buddy, Mrs. Claus, Blazz and all the other helpers departed the Phelps Center. The evening was cold and clear. The stars shone brightly. A hush settled on the neighborhood as the last unit pulled out of the parking lot for home. At this time, some of the helpers claim they heard a rustle of jingle bells dance through the air and a small bright red light float up into the sky overhead. Reportedly, a voice rang out across the parking lot. Although unable to see who was speaking, all heard quite clearly the voice proclaim "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night".
