At around 1540 hrs, Engine 849 and Ambulance 849 were alerted for the first due apartment fire. Chief 849B responded with the Engine and Ambulance and established command. Engine 849 laid out from the hydrant at Parkside Drive and Sharon Court, positioned on Side A and encountered multiple excited residents alerting the crew to the second floor of the apartment. Building maintenance was already in the building and notified the crew that the apartment's residents were currently not home and tried to use keys to enter. When maintenance's attempts to open the door failed, E849 forced entry and encountered moderate heat and smoke conditions with zero visibility. E849 began a systematic primary search and progressively ventilated to locate the seat of the fire in the right side, front bedroom. E849 stretched a hand line and extinguished the fire, containing the fire to the room of origin. E849, Truck 715 and Tower 810 operated on the fire floor and AA E27 advanced the 400' line from E849 to the third floor and operated with Truck 831 there.

Original Box Alarm: E849, AA E27, HoCo E6, PE841, Tower 810, Truck 831, MCFRS Truck 715, A849.
